Acid pro 7.0 latency problems12/27/2022 typically the audio interface’s drivers will perform better, but this is not always the case, depending on the quality of your audio interface.Īudio latency performance at the end of the day really comes down to two things: You will have to see what ASIO driver works best for you. Now, if you’ve bought an audio interface, you may see your audio interface’s driver within this list as well. I've tried using my UAD-2 in ACID 7 to see if it works any better then the UAD-1 did and not surprisingly the same old issues are still there.I personally would recommend the FL Studio ASIO, as you can record your desktop audio into a software like OBS for extremely high quality screen capture recordings. Yeah, UAD-2 is the way to go! Justin, made some UAD-1 specific tweaks to REAPER to make it function, but the UAD-2 works with reaper right of the box full bore without any need for tweaks or compromises. I am currently using the latest & greatest reaper release v4.10, BTW. Namely, make sure the "tempo match on" option is selected and use the "auto play" & "start on bar" options at your discretion. Check out the 2nd post in the linked thread below for all the pertinent details:Īlso, many new Media Explorer features were added since that post. FWIW, I always keep reaper configured this way. Kevin, I am not sure how familiar you are with reaper, but you can configure it to work with acidized files, similar to ACID. ![]() My work flow is much like billy's and my uad 1 cards work great. I have migrated to Reaper and couldn't be happier. As an inexpensive way to do traditional track/bus mixing/rendering with full PDC using UAD-2 plug-ins, REAPER is hard to beat I never use my UAD plug-ins as clip FX (always as track or buss FX), so this is not an issue for me. REAPER's PDC does not do very well with UAD in this one lone situation. ![]() The one thing you cannot do is use UAD plug-ins as media/clip FX (use on individual clips can cause that clip to get out of sync with rest of tracks). Playback and renders are always flawless. IOW, you can use scores of UAD-2 plug-ins on track inserts and busses (I've tested literally with hundreds of UAD-2 plug-ins at a time)even down to 64 samples. Using UAD-2 plug-ins in REAPER is a pure joy and nearly flawless. I will then export my ACID project (using the export/render to separate tracks feature) and then drag & drop those tracks into REAPER to do any additional audio recording and then mixing (with scores of UAD plug-ins) and final rendering. I have been using REAPER for my mixing needs ever since.ĪCID Pro is still the best pure loop arranging tool around and if I plan on working primarily with loops that is the tool I still use. When I finally asked them why they can't seem to get the UAD issues fixed, I was told and I quote."It is what it is!" and not to expect the situation to improve as the UAD ACID Pro user base was insigificant and not worth the resources to fix without a total rewrite of ACID's (and probably Vegas as well) underlying PDC mechanism and the way it interacts with delay inducing plug-ins and it's track/bussing architecture. At first, they seemed genuinely interested in getting the issues fixed, but as time went on and nothing had changed it seemed they did not want to be bothered. I used to be an ACID Pro beta tester (ACID 5/6) and as an avid UAD user I was always reporting about and documenting UAD issues with the ACID development team. The all in one ACID Pro DAW! Yeah, I gave up on that pipe dream soon after ACID Pro 6 was released and the horrid UAD compatibility situation (CPU munching, BSOD's, ACID freezes/crashes, etc.) still had not changed. I'm thinking I could build raw tracks on ACID and then move them to Cubase to mix? I am addicted to UAD, so now I need to find new DAW software. I've decided I have about had it with Acid as an all in one DAW- after using it and Vegas forever and having bug and bomb issues. I've never had this problem with Powercore plugins. Don't know why I paid all that money for more cards and plugins when they disable themselves. I've just started to trial ACID 7 and this is a cruel joke because I've got the song to playback how I like but I can't render it. I just had to turn Sherlock Holmes and work out which UAD-1 plugin was mismatched and replace it with a native one then it would playback and render. I never had this problem in ACID 6 - if there was a buffer mismatch it wouldn't playback so end of story. It gives absolutely no clue as to which plugin has had a buffer mismatch and been disabled. I'm really sick of that disabled plugin message because it's worse than useless. ![]() Of course, it doesn't tell me which plugins have been disabled so I can't fix the problem. This is driving me crazy! I'm able to playback using UAD-1 plugins in a Sony ACID 7 project without any problems but when I come to render the track UAD-1 or ACID 7 reports that there's been a buffer mismatch and one or more plugins have been disabled.
